What is Hemp Bud?

CBD has been all the rage in the news, in advertising and social media. There has been a frenzy surrounding CBD products since the signing of the Farm Bill of 2018 in December of that year.

CBD comes from hemp and the bill exclusively called for the decriminalization of possessing hemp, hemp products, growing and manufacturing hemp (under regulation by the individual states).

Some new products are coming to the light of day now, with this new ease of laws surrounding hemp. Hemp bud, or hemp flower as it is also known, is one of the new and exciting products that we are beginning to see.

The timing is such that the crops that were put in this spring, directly following the new legislation, are coming to maturity and there is a huge amount of hemp buds available.

What is Hemp Bud?

Hemp bud/hemp flower is the flowering bud at the top of the plant. It looks and smells almost exactly like the bud from the marijuana plant from which weed is made. When you smoke marijuana, you aren’t smoking the leaves or the stem of the plant, you are smoking the bud.

Hemp also has a bud and it just so happens that the highest concentration of CBD (cannabidiol) available in the plant is in this bud. With the farmers who planted hemp this year being at an all time high (no pun intended), there is a bumper crop of hemp that is ready right now, meaning Hemp Bud is available and prices are great.

Producers are excitedly beginning to distribute this marijuana look-alike, which has all of the benefits of a highly concentrated CBD oil, without the high of the marijuana. Hemp plants only contain roughly .03% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is responsible for making you high.

CBD oils and products marketed to the public cannot have more than .03% to remain legally sold this way. More THC than that must be regulated through a marijuana dispensary.

So the CBD, which has been found to have many uses is highly concentrated in the from of hemp bud. You may find this sold as hemp bud, sometimes as hemp flower, but both are the same thing.

How Does it Work?

CBD and THC are both cannabinoids but they are not the only cannabinoids present in cannabis plants. As of this date, there are 113 cannabinoids that have been discovered and there are over 400 plant compounds, known as phytocompounds, found in cannabis all together.

Not all of these compounds are cannabinoids, it takes a specific molecular structure to  be a cannabinoid and they can also be found in other plants. CBD however, is a cannabinoid that is exclusively found in cannabis plants and most highly concentrated in hemp.

CBD enters the body and interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which can have a dramatically positive impact on the way the body responds to pain, inflammation, nausea, headaches, arthritis, seizures, tremors, bowel problems, and much more.

Now, with concentrations of the hemp bud being as high as 19% in some strains, and having a long list of other cannabinoids present as well as giving you all of the terpenes that also have benefits for health. Each strain will have a test that breaks down which cannabinoids are present, which terpenes are present and the percentages that each show.

This version of CBD will give the most effective dose that you’ve ever had the pleasure of taking Those with chronic pain will love using CBD Bud. You may want to exercise some caution where you use this product and who you use it around if your state still has regulations on weed because this looks exactly the same and it could potentially cause you some problems. That’s the only downside at all.
